At our AI-Powered Manufacturing seminar in Chonburi, Anusorn Krongkeaha (Khun Ball), Solution Architect at 9 Dots Consulting Thailand, presented “𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗨𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗜𝗼𝗧 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗜-𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻” and led a live demonstration of a robotic production line.

The demonstration represented a small factory production line, designed to connect four steps:

• Create a production order in Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Use the robotic arm to pick and sort a part
• Use a photoelectric sensor to confirm completion
• Send production status and output back to the ERP system

The robotic arm’s movement was also reflected on screen within a digital factory simulation, linking the equipment activity with its digital representation.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗥𝗣?

A production order records what should happen. Feedback from equipment helps establish what actually happened. Linking machine activity to the relevant production order, equipment and material batch can help manufacturers:

• Compare planned and actual production output
• Monitor cycle times and machine utilisation
• Identify unfinished tasks and unexpected stoppages
• Track materials and batches through production
• Coordinate inventory updates and maintenance

For example, a missed completion signal can flag a task that needs checking. Connecting that signal to the production order helps the team identify which work is affected and assess the impact on the schedule.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗔𝗜 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀

This connected data creates opportunities for Copilot and our proprietary PRIME AI Solutions, a portfolio of business AI agents.

A PRIME AI agent could be configured to bring together machine status, production orders and maintenance records. This could help teams investigate a delay and assess whether equipment needs attention or the production schedule needs adjusting, with people reviewing the recommended action.

Held in collaboration with Microsoft, the seminar explored how IoT, real-time factory data, Dynamics 365 and AI can reduce the time between a production event and an informed operational decision.

On 2 September, 9 Dots Consulting welcomed customers and business leaders to 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗺 – 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 at Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Interest exceeded our expectations. We initially planned for 15 guests and welcomed 19 participants for a focused morning of ideas, discussion and connection.

Karine Lim, Microsoft Partner Development Manager, opened the executive conversation with 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗺: 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗘𝗿𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜-𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. Karine shared Microsoft’s perspective on the next stage of AI adoption, where people, intelligent agents and business systems work together to reshape how organisations operate and create value.

Driving ERP transformation starts with the right conversation.
