Boston Bones - Sand

Birks are great as they are, but I approached this pair with a simple question: how can I elevate the emotion of the product through hardware? Using our original bone buckle, previously seen on our belts and pant back buckles, we reworked the hardware on the Birkenstock Boston and framed it with sourced conchos and jewel studs placed just enough around the shoe to shift the attitude. The result pushes the silhouette closer to how I imagine a perfect pair of Birkenstock should look.

ビルケンはそのままでも素晴らしいですが、この一足にはシンプルな問いからアプローチしました。ハードウェアによって、このプロダクトの持つ感情をどう高められるか。ベルトやパンツのバックバックルにも使ってきたオリジナルのボーンバックルを使い、ビルケンシュトックのボストンの金具を作り替え、さらに厳選したコンチョとジュエルスタッズをバランスよく配置しました。シルエットの空気感を変えながら、私が思い描く理想のビルケンシュトックの姿に近づけています。

There’s a waiting list for these—and for good reason.

Every stud is punched in by hand, one by one. No shortcuts. Sometimes they slip, we redo them. Hundreds in total, and getting those last few in place means working blind from the inside while aligning everything from the outside. It’s a grind.

But the result? Final boss energy.

すべてのスタッズは一本ずつ手作業で打ち込んでいます。近道は一切なし。時には外れてやり直すこともあります。全部で数百個あり、最後の数個を固定するのは、内側から手探りで作業しながら外側で位置を合わせる必要があり、かなり大変です。

Birkenstocks, everywhere.

We first started customizing these a couple years back when we made our original bone buckle hardware. It was meant for belts, but turned out to fit perfectly on Birks—so we ran with it and made it our own. Added conchos, studs, jewel accents… then stopped before it got too much. Balance was the point.

Started as pairs for friends and family. Then we paused it. Then it came back—hard—so we brought it back.

Now the studio’s been nonstop on these again. All done by hand, not factory, so it takes a bit of time. But we’re making more.

Appreciate the support. These came out right.

Kami mula buat kustom ini beberapa tahun lepas bila kami hasilkan bone buckle hardware original kami. Asalnya untuk tali pinggang, tapi rupanya muat sempurna pada Birks—jadi kami teruskan dan jadikan ia gaya kami sendiri. Tambah conchos, studs, jewel accents… kemudian berhenti sebelum jadi berlebihan. Keseimbangan itu yang penting.

Bermula sebagai pasangan untuk kawan dan keluarga. Lepas tu kami hentikan. Kemudian ia kembali—dan mendapat sambutan—jadi kami bawa semula.

Sekarang studio kami tak henti-henti hasilkan ini. Semua dibuat tangan, bukan dari kilang, jadi ambil sedikit masa. Tapi kami akan buat lagi.

Back to the craft.

Taking time off projects to focus on what started it all—working with my hands, slowing things down. This damaged waffle tee came from seeing potential in the fabric itself, pushing its texture through controlled destruction. The process wasn’t easy—snags, resets, doing it over—but finding that balance between damage and restraint is the point.

No prints, no logos—just texture, repair, and composition.

It’s time-consuming and draining, so there won’t be many. But this feels right.

Kembali ke akar.

Tahun ini gue sengaja ngambil jarak dari proyek dan kerjaan untuk balik ke hal yang jadi awal semuanya—kerja dengan tangan, pelan, dan fokus. Kaos waffle ini datang dari melihat potensi di tekstur kainnya, lalu “menghancurkannya” secara terkontrol untuk menciptakan sesuatu. Prosesnya nggak mudah—sering nyangkut, harus berhenti, reset, ulang lagi—tapi justru di situ gue mencari keseimbangan antara damage dan restraint.

Tanpa print, tanpa logo—hanya tekstur, perbaikan, dan komposisi.

Karena prosesnya makan waktu dan cukup menguras tenaga, nggak akan banyak dibuat. Tapi gue puas dengan hasilnya.

This marks its first appearance on the Air Max 95, resulting in a balanced and restrained design that speaks quietly but with intent. Conceived as an archival piece, it is built to be timeless.

Subcultural Distortion.

Bonezzy caught in an analog moment, twirling a cassette with the tape spilling loose. A small ritual from a different time, when we rewound tapes with a pen to save battery and made things last a little longer. A simple act that defined an era, now gone but not forgotten.
