Week 20/52. IG is congratulating me for posting consecutively for 19 weeks. Pat pat.

This week was busy but not busy, if you know what I mean. There’s always something but at the same time, not really. All in all, I think we are just looking forward to the holidays, so we re just going through the motion. Personally, I am also dreading all the packing (and unpacking) ahead. I am getting sentimental too about the place, the life we are having. So I’m taking more random pics.

S: Do you know why I never spend my money in my piggy bank?
Us: Why?
S: So that I have a lot of money when I grow up.
Us: Ooo.. and what are you going to do with the money?
S: Buy toys!!

Week 19/52. I am posting later and later. O lord.

Last week we went furniture shopping in JB and that was fun. Can I say furniture shops will be in my list of stops in any upcoming roadtrips, particularly when we need to sit back and relax for a bit.

Entering mid-May, mood has fully shifted to somewhere between sentimental and panicky. There’s just so much to pack (physically speaking), and unpack (emotionally speaking). Consciously or subconsciously, I feel like the kids are also taking in whatever they can while they can into whatever memory log they have in their head. Sora would quiet down a little bit whenever the move is mentioned. Miya is starting to get the gist too, especially with all the books talking about moving. Or.. maybe I am just reading into things. Maybe I’m the only one sentimental here. I mean, the road has my name, so.. cmon.

Elliot Walk chapter is closing soon, but it’ll be okay. We’ll be okay.

Week 18/52. One does simply walk into Mordor- I mean, primary achool.

Fast forward 5 months after her first day, she now walks in without looking back (much). Sometimes when we re early enough, her friends would be around and they would be laughing as they walk/run in. And I’m there shouting “byeeeee..”. Even so, she hasnt stopped asking me right after we hug and say goodbye, “Are you picking me up?” Of course, baby, for as long as I can.

Times like this I like to imagine how my parents felt back then when they were in my position, especially since I left home so early and so suddenly.

On a side note, happy mama day again, mama! And you too, Mami.

Also, the hunt for furniture/appliance begins! Raar. Drop a text if you have lobang? Pretty please?

Week 17/52. I wanna say last week was a.. blur, but it could also be.. eye-opening .

Sora did a scholar’s mate on a robot, and Miya spotted an olive-backed sunbird. Sora also is trying to pick up rollerblading. At this rate, she’s gonna beat me at everything i wanted to pick up but never did (chinese, piano, rollerblading). Miya OTOH is just gonna beat me.. literally.. for now; last week with a book and last night with a racquet. Oh, more selfies this week. Hm.

Mother’s day coming. Hold yours tight if you can, and always carry their love with you.

Week 16/52.. or is it 15? Nah definitely 16; the one with the field trip.

Big sis got field trip to the zoo, so lil sis somehow tagged me along unplanned on an errand run on a random morning. Glad she did. She also learnt how to draw smiley faces. Lil encim has been feeling so many big feelings since turning three, so much so that it is triggering some PTSD from when big sis was a threenager. They re made from the same mold alright.

On a random note, I never realised before how blue and vast the sky look from their perspective.

Week 15/52. The one where Sora read to Truffle.

So on Saturday, our neighbour said Sora can babysit Truffle anytime, and in fact made an appointment with her for Sunday at 2pm. Nobody took this seriously, except of course, my firstspawn. She thought about it the whole night and the whole morning and braved herself to knock on their door at 1.30pm. She was rewarded. Our neighbour taught her how to walk Truffle and let her bring Truffle back for a whole 30mins at home where Sora diligently read to him just as she promised the day before. I am impresssed by both her and Truffle. Man, that dog is so well behaved. They said this breed is like that?

Now Sora wants to volunteer to pet shelters to read to every dog. Tag .c maybe this could be a ‘pet project’ - no pun intended. Read to A Dog near you.

On other side quest, first time being late to school was … interesting. Bonus clip: Miya baby shark encore.

week 13/52 - nothing like a war and energy crisis to put things into perspective.

like how diesel could be more expensive than 98, life has plenty more surprises in store. so i suppose its a good time to get a stock take on whats important in life(s). it’s mathematically 1/4 of the year gone and what was just a whimsical idea of keeping track of our weekly happenings have now turn into a personal reminder. take a deep breath, step back and if no one hasnt told you this this week, let me have the honor: “i am so glad you are here- today, right where you are where you re supposed to be.”

one underrated advice is to go away with just your family; just the kids, the wifey, the pool, the elephants, the pork ribs, the ice cream with sprinkles, the random giant stitch plushie, the lilypads, the breakfasts, the little hands holding each other, the slides, the first baby toof drop off, the hugs, the memories.
