Do your employees feel heard, or have they stopped expecting a response?

The latest Singapore Workforce Engagement Study (SWES) suggests that is closely tied to whether people stay engaged and willing to advocate for their organisation. Among the factors measured, internal communication has the strongest correlation with Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS®), at 0.720.

When suggestions seem to go nowhere, people stop speaking up. Fewer ideas are shared, fewer risks are raised, and organisations become slower to improve.

Lack of internal communication also creates a talent and competitiveness risk. SMEs continue to marginally lead non-SMEs in engagement, at 56.88% versus 53.82%, which may reflect the advantage of workplaces where communication feels more responsive. For non-SMEs, that can mean losing agility and appeal. For SMEs, it is a reminder that being heard is an edge worth protecting as they grow.

Daily interactions between patients and healthcare staff are at the heart of the healthcare journey. By analysing these critical touchpoints, this project aimed to uncover actionable insights to better serve TTSH’s diverse patient community.

The aAdvantage team implemented a comprehensive approach to gather feedback throughout the year and analysing the results to identify trends and opportunities to improve the patient experience at TTSH.

The latest Singapore Workforce Engagement Study (SWES) suggests that authentic organisational support is one of the clearest indicators of long-term engagement.

Employees perceiving high levels of care scored 37.2 points higher on the EEI than those who do not. Yet only 49.2% of employees believe the support and concern they receive is real. At the same time, care for employee mental health is among the bottom five scoring areas, with only 51.9% of staff agreeing that it is provided.

If care is experienced as occasional messaging rather than something consistently felt in daily work, engagement can easily turn volatile again when pressure rises.

The latest Singapore Workforce Engagement Study (SWES) points to a recovery in employee sentiment in 2025. For one, the Employee Engagement Index (EEI) rose to 78.2, up from 74.6 in 2024. The Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS®), which reflects how likely people are to recommend their organisation as a place to work, also improved from -3.4 to 0.1.

Whilst these shifts are encouraging, they raise an important question: are organisations seeing the early signs of more sustainable growth, or do they remain vulnerable to regression?

To avoid the latter, leaders need to understand which parts of the workplace experience have improved, which groups might still be vulnerable, and what would need to be reinforced more intentionally in culture and day-to-day management.

When leaders anchor on different priorities, it does not take long for teams to retreat into functional goals. As a result, coordination becomes harder and handovers get messier; silo behaviour starts creeping in.

That is why leadership teams in organisations need a shared direction that is simple enough to follow and strong enough to hold under pressure. A thematic goal provides that reset by pulling everyone back to one outcome, so trade offs get resolved faster and expectations stay clear across the end to end system.
