The toilet upgrading project at Raffles City Shopping Centre encompasses works across the Basement and Levels 1, 2, and 3 of this key retail landmark in the heart of Singapore.

This project utilised a mock-up toilet unit to assess workmanship and facilitate management's visual inspection and approval before proceeding with other units.

Given the high daily foot traffic and the essential role of toilet facilities for both shoppers and tenants, careful consideration was given to strategically phasing the closure of toilet units across all levels to minimize disruption. A five-phase ex*****on plan was developed to strategically sequence the closure and reopening of toilets across all levels, ensuring business continuity while maintaining project progress.

An array of sensors was incorporated into the designs, most notably the WC Occupancy Monitoring panels located at the entrances of each toilet unit. These panels enable shoppers to instantly see stall availability, enhancing user convenience and overall experience.

Throughout the project, we gained valuable insights into sensor performance, the client’s commitment to brand consistency in sanitary ware selection, and the designer’s focus on aesthetic and functional details, which led to the development of effective procurement strategies. Bluebeam facilitated digital measurement and PDF documentation throughout the process, integrating digital tools into our delivery.

MegaChem Ltd., a global integrated chemical solutions provider operating in 12 countries, has embarked on a project involves the redevelopment of an existing single-user factory into a modern two-story facility featuring:
✅ A mezzanine office

To commence the construction phase, the consultant team executed a rigorous process involving technical assessment, value engineering, negotiation, and evaluation. Given the site's location within a Railway Protection Zone, strict adherence to safety and environmental protection measures mandated by government authorities was essential before any work began.

Collaboration with an actively participating client and an experienced team of consultants and contractors is always a rewarding experience. While cost and time pressures are always present in large-scale projects, this one stands out for its strong collaboration between client, consultants, and contractors — a testament to what can be achieved through a professional and solution-oriented approach.

This project showcases the comprehensive quantity surveying (QS) services provided for the prestigious Upper Wilkie Road residential development in Singapore. The project, a 26-unit multi-storey landed development near the Istana, presented unique challenges due to its location and stringent requirements. We were involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from the early planning stages through to completion in March 2025 (a 22-month construction period).

We managed the procurement and contractual aspects of the project, monitoring progress and ensuring compliance with specifications. A key aspect of our role involved managing over 100 variation orders. This required rigorous cost assessments, clear communication with all stakeholders, and proactive management of potential cost overruns.

The project's proximity to the Istana necessitated strict adherence to regulations and site security protocols. The high number of variations, stemming from architectural revisions and authority feedback, demanded a robust and adaptable multi-disciplinary approach to mitigate potential risks and maintained project control.

Maintaining open communication among client, architects, engineers, and contractors was crucial for successful completion of works. A forward-looking Consultant Lead and a collaborative posture have been critical in disputes resolution.
