The interns became the presenters! 🎤

What started as an internship journey ended with our AMTC interns taking the stage to share their projects, experiences, and lessons learnt with fellow TIE interns. From materials and technologies to hands-on research and testing, it was encouraging to see our interns confidently share what they have learnt and accomplished during their time with us.

A big thank you to our AMTC interns for their hard work, enthusiasm, and willingness to share their journey. We are proud of your growth and contributions over the semester. 💚

And to all the TIE interns who joined us — thank you for your enthusiasm, questions, and support. Learning is always better when shared. Wishing everyone an exciting journey ahead as you continue to learn, innovate, and make an impact.

Thomas is back from 🇦🇺🐨🦘Here's what he has to share

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Three days in Melbourne attending the World Sustainable Built Environment Conference (WSBE26), listening to international keynote speakers, researchers and sustainability advocates from around the world. 🌏

While the conference covered a wide range of topics — from decarbonisation and circular economy to AI-driven sustainability and urban planning — my biggest takeaway was simple: Sustainability is not an individual problem, not a technology problem, it is everyone's problem.

No single organisation, department or individual can solve it alone. Real progress happens when people from different disciplines come together, share knowledge, challenge greenwashing assumptions and work towards a common goal.

I had many fruitful discussions with Dr. Faris, being the only few Singapore attendees. Beyond the conference presentations, our conversations reinforced the importance of bridging education, industry and industry-driven innovation to create real impact for Singapore. We couldn't help but feel that Singapore Polytechnic has many success stories worth sharing too — from sustainable materials, AI-driven technology, green energy, to industry transformation and workforce development.

A big thank you to WSBE26 for hosting the event, and to AMTC for giving me this rare opportunity to attend.

Double Milestone: Celebrating Teamwork and Excellence at AMTC 🏆🏆
It’s a proud day at SP Work Plan Seminar 2026 as we celebrate winning two awards:

1. SPXA - Cross Collaboration & Teamwork
Our colleagues joined forces with PACE, INP, TIE, and EEE to transform how businesses access technology adoption grants by co-developing the MSG Frameworks for Digitalisation, Sustainability, and Food.

2. Supporting Team Award – Built Environment Working Group (TIE)
We are also thrilled to share that the Built Environment Working Group (TIE) has been recognized! This award celebrates the essential backend support and coordination that allows our industry-relevant technology projects to move from the lab to the real world.

Congratulations to all the winners for their rigour, imagination, and dedication to excellence!

POV: You just survived your diploma and now you’re graduating. 🎓🔥

Massive W to our interns and students for officially wearing that mortarboard (no cap, not cement mortar). From those 8:30 AM lab sessions to growing plants on rooftop solar, you guys really did the most.

We’ve watched you grow from "what's this material?" to literally translating science into industry-relevant technologies. Honestly, your rigour and imagination are unmatched. It’s been a whole vibe having you in our lab, and even though you’re moving on to your next chapter, we’re still cheering for you from the sidelines.

Go secure the bag and keep pushing boundaries! 🚀⚒️ Just remember: whether you’re scaling innovations or just need a technical vibe check, AMTC is here to support you.

Parody: Concrete (every day)…sealant?

How do concrete stay flawless? Simple logic. Monkeys never cramp because they eat bananas. Our concrete never has micro-cracks because SP AMTC invented concrete sealant. Not only that, our concrete sealant can re-alkaline the carbonated concrete, and prevent rebar from further corrosion! 3-in-1!

Huge thanks to Yasin, our intern, for being such a good sport in this tribute!
P.S.: Yasin actually got a cramp during the shoot because he didn't eat his bananas. 🍌💨 Talk about commitment to our centre!

Sometimes in AMTC, we engineer the "hazard" out of your workplace. Some of our innovations don't just perform better — they're designed to be safer for the humans using them.

Lesser PPE, yet safe to operate.

Thank you so much to our precious interns for agreeing in the production of this video 🫶🏻
