This is the second system we've built in-house at Bass Aero.

The first was OIC — our Operations Information Centre, built to make knowledge instantly searchable.

This one is OpsDesk.

It's the platform our operations team runs every flight on, from the first enquiry to the final invoice.

Every job moves through a single workflow:
Request → Flight Creation → Completion → Back Office Review → Finance Verification → Billing.

Every charge is checked twice before it reaches an invoice.

For years, we managed flights using paper flight summaries. When COVID arrived, paper processes became impossible overnight. We moved everything onto shared drives and folders. It kept us flying, but it was a workaround, not a system.

We looked at off-the-shelf platforms, but they were built for someone else's operation, priced for someone else's budget, and often meant putting client data on someone else's servers.

So we built our own.

Nobody understands Bass Aero's workflow better than the people who run it every day.

Built by ops, for ops.

Most companies buy software.

We ended up building our own.

Over the years, our operational knowledge became scattered across Google Drive, Notion, and Google Keep.
The problem wasn't that the information didn't exist.
The problem was finding it.
New team members had to learn where everything was stored before they could even start looking for answers.

So we built OIC — our Operations Information Centre.

One search bar.
Every source.
Instant access to documents, decoded weather, airport data, aircraft information, and AIS resources.

Nothing fancy.
Just a tool that removes friction from daily operations and helps our team make decisions faster.

Built in-house.
Built by ops, for ops.
