TRAINING USER-CENTRIC DESIGN IN MALAY

I have often rejected training in Malay Language because some terms are just hard to translate to Malay/BM/Bahasa Indonesia. Despite being in Malay Electives in school, I am sad to say that I don't often use Malay Language when training.

So, when I was given the opportunity to conduct a brief segment of user-centric design in Malay, I was doubtful at first. I'm glad everything went okay. They understood me, I understood them. It shows in the final output the participants presented.

Everything may seem unfamiliar or uncomfortable, but when you step out of the comfort zone, that's where the magic happens! ✨

Entrepreneur Sharing at Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' School💖

It's been awhile since I shared about my journey in school. I never fail to return and give back my time to young girls who are discovering entrepreneurship.

So grateful to and their .sg programme, which allows secondary three students an opportunity to discover what entrepreneurship is all about.

The Art of Digital Storytelling with , in partnership with took place on Wednesday.

It was a full-day workshop which I conducted with 34 participants from various in Brunei Darussalam 🇧🇳

I have forgotten what a crowd of 30 people in-person looks like. Online, 30 people would just be part of the namelist. Seeing this workshop take shape in person, I am grateful and in awe of the active participation I received.

Thank you for the warm hospitality and making my experience as a in Brunei after the pandemic a memorable one. 🙌

Don't quit your job NOW to start a business online. There's more things to consider.

I really hate it when business coaches tell their clients to quit their job to focus on their business. There are more to consider and each client is different. That's why asking anyone to quit their job shouldn't be a blanket advice.

While you ideate, plan and develop your business for launch, you can totally keep your full-time job. You have bills to pay, my friend! Your electricity and water will stop running in your home otherwise!

Instead, here are 3 things to consider before quitting your 9-to-5 job to pursue your business full-time:

1️⃣Check your finances
There must be more than enough to cover living expenses and business expenses.

2️⃣Review your business goals
We focus on ONE goal at a time. Once you've reached them, then you can begin to tender your resignation

3️⃣Ensure CONSISTENT flow of income to your business
At least for the next 6-months, your business needs to attract consistent flow of income. We do this through proper contracts and systems, which I teach in the Profitable Fempreneur Program.

No one can tell you to quit your job. As a coach, I customise the advice I give based on your situation. It's only fair that I don't give a blanket advice for a situation unique only to you.

Last month, I had the honour of being a moderator on the FUTR Asia stage. On the panel were esteemed experts Gaurav Lalwani from GSK, Rishab Mukherjee from Procter & Gamble, Jason Huan from Endowus and Lianne Mui from McCormick & Company.

We discussed on the future of and it should be a focus for other organisations for 2023.

The insights shared made total sense which foreshadowed the weeks to come for me: "Help the helpers".

Over the past 7 days in Jakarta & Singapore, I was engaged with 45 youth leaders from various countries in the ASEAN Youth Fellowship by National Youth Council Singapore and Singapore International Foundation.

We were the only ones selected from over 700 applicants.

This wasn't just a conference for youths to mingle and connect, but one for us to think and act upon what a better looks like.

Meeting , Mr. Nadiem Makarim, Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia, was the highlight of the program for me. There were so many brilliant insights that was shared during the program. He was also the former Co-founder of Gojek and Co-founder of Zalora Indonesia, which inspires me to scale on my business leadership too.

Above all, it was the friendships fostered that made the difference for this program. I came without expecting much and here I am at a loss for words on how meaningful these 7-days has been.

The future is bright when we come together to learn about each other's countries, cultures and politics. It's not the differences that we are after, but the similarities towards a greater ASEAN.

I am a Citizen of ASEAN, and I'm an ASEAN Youth Fellow! 😍 🙌
