We were honoured that Samantha Tai, CEO of BoardRoom Malaysia, had the opportunity to share her governance insights and experience with Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar as part of the Capital Market Director Programme (CMDP) organised by the Securities Commission Malaysia.

As Malaysia's Chief Secretary to the Government (Ketua Setiausaha Negara), Tan Sri Shamsul Azri is the nation's highest-ranking public servant, overseeing public administration and the implementation of government policies. While the title "Secretary" may sound administrative, the role carries significant leadership and governance responsibilities at the highest levels of government.

The same evolution can be seen in the corporate world, where company secretaries have grown beyond traditional administrative functions to become trusted advisers to boards on governance, compliance and effective decision-making.

Our Corporate Secretarial team in Malaysia recently stepped away from the office for a retreat with no business agenda. Just time to connect, recharge and enjoy each other's company.

Along the way, many surprised themselves, showing up for early morning workouts, taking on exhilarating ATV rides and diving into heart-pumping paintball battles. By stepping beyond their comfort zones, they discovered they were capable of more than they thought. There was plenty of laughter too, over karaoke sessions, friendly mahjong games and shared meals.

A highlight of the retreat was Margaret Chew 's inspiring sharing - 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕'𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕? Her message resonated deeply. Everest was never simply about conquering a mountain. It is about discovering purpose, building resilience and finding the strength to keep moving forward when the path ahead feels uncertain.

As part of our annual health and wellness initiative, our team in Singapore recently participated in an in-office health screening program with Minmed Group, giving colleagues the opportunity to gain valuable insights into their health.

The screening covered key health indicators, including BMI, blood pressure, waist-to-hip ratio, and blood analysis. At BoardRoom, we're committed to supporting employee well-being and empowering our people to take proactive steps towards a healthier future.

📱Giving back is always more meaningful when colleagues come together for a good cause.💙

Recently, our colleagues in Singapore spent an afternoon with seniors at FaithActs, a non-profit community care service, as part of the Byte-sized Digital Lab initiative, helping them navigate everyday apps such as SG Bus Timing and WhatsApp.

They answered questions, exchanged stories and helped seniors build confidence with technology in a relaxed and friendly setting. We're grateful for opportunities like these to connect with the community and make a positive impact together.

Our Vietnam Country Manager, 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐠𝐮𝐲𝐞𝐧, recently shared insights at the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) Business Mission Trip to Vietnam, where he spoke on Vietnam's import controls, product approvals and foreign distribution considerations.
