NUS Business Analytics Consulting Team is a place where students can learn and apply advanced business analytics beyond the classroom with real world projects, through knowledge sharing community between students, alumni and the teaching faculty. Members undergo internal training and sharing to improve our competencies. We also work on self-initiated projects to apply our knowledge to a real business problem.

Recruitment for Business Analytics Consulting Team (BACT) is open! Join us as a Project Leader or a Project Analyst! If you are passionate to learn about data analytics, love to work with motivated individuals, and keen on applying your knowledge into real business impacts, we are thrilled to have you with us.

In the first semester, BACT will equip you with critical data analytics skills such as Data Visualization, Machine Learning, Optimization, Web scraping, and Hypothesis Testing you can utilize in your internship and employment. In the second semester, we will invite an industrial partner to share a problem that their organization faced. Then, you will tackle the problem with the skills you have learned and present your recommendation to our industrial partners at the end of the semester.

NUS BACT was recently engaged by Prince George’s Park to conduct a Tableau workshop to equip the residence with the fundamental skills to use the data visualisation software, Tableau!

The 2x 3 hour workshop was conducted in a format where students harnessed the various features of Tableau to tackle business questions posed from a dataset.

It was definitely a fun and fulfilling workshop for both the students as well as the trainers!

Calling out all students!

NUS Statistics Society is back once again with our annual Data Science Competition – an avenue for data enthusiasts to work on interesting data while solving real-world problem!

Don’t have prior experience? Fret not! There are two workshops which will cover data science techniques to guide you through the competition. Students from ALL backgrounds are welcome!

16th March 2019 (Saturday): Workshop 1
23rd March 2019 (Saturday): Workshop 2
31st March 2019 (Sunday): Finale

During the finale, you can learn from the top team’s winning solution, and hear from big companies such as GovTech, SGInnovate and Google Cloud on the relevance of data science in different industries. There will also be a networking session where you get to network with industry experts or like-minded individuals over lunch!

There are up to SGD$1,000 cash prizes to be won and ALL participants with successful submissions will get a Certificates of Accomplishment.
