We hosted JCTI Salon Vol.01 on August 4th at One&Co.
Nearly 70 people gathered: Japanese corporations (BANDO SG , Kuraray, Mitsubishi Electric, Murata, Nitto Denko, Nisshinbo, Panasonic, Ricoh, Toyo Seikan), government agencies like A*STAR and JETRO Singapore, startups working on AI and sustainability, investors, ecosystem orchestrators. The diversity of sectors, the range of challenges people were working on, the quality of conversation. It stayed with us after everyone left.
What we realized that night is this. Japanese companies looking to establish genuine partnerships in Singapore don't need more technology showcases or formal pitch events. They need to understand the local context. They need trusted partners who can move quickly. They need to keep relationships warm and momentum alive during the in-between moments, when the big events are not happening.
One&Co exists to host that kind of work. We provide space for people to think together about problems that matter. Japanese corporations facing real challenges in market adaptation and commercialization. Local innovators and enterprises looking to work with Japanese R&D. Government bodies interested in deepening the ecosystem. All of them, together, in a room where the conversation can be genuine.
