3.7 Inspection and Maintenance

3.7.1 A thorough visual inspection and checks on equipment usage is important for ensuring that the equipment is free from observable defects. Equipment that have exceeded their serviceable life span or passed their expiry date should not be used.

3.7.4 Maintenance of equipment should only be performed by trained and competent persons.

“Competent person” means a person who has sufficient experience and training to perform the work required to be carried out, and has passed such courses as the Commissioner for Workplace Safety and Health may require for that work.

4.7 Regular inspection by a competent person should be performed at least once every 12 months as per manufacturer’s instructions. For use in extreme environments (e.g., near hot works), more frequent inspections are required.

They are also registered WSHO (Workplace Safety & Health Officer) with the MOM (Ministry of Manpower), as well as Adult Education (AE) certification at the national level, such as ACTA (now known as ACLP), SDEQM, SDAF and DACE.

A Petzl Technical Partner (PTP) is a recognized expert company or individual in a vertical environment that demonstrates a thorough understanding of their respective industry, contributes to the development of best practices, and meaningfully integrates Petzl into their systems and curriculum.

A PTP is recognized as a valued partner, as well as an individual and direct investment in the company. The PTPs can be approved to teach Petzl content, receive support for equipment and marketing assets, have priority access to training and customer references, as well as direct access to Petzl technical resources. In return for this promotional support, Petzl endeavors to share our information, our products, our time, and our resources to ensure mutual success and sustainable growth.

BMS Specialist Training Pte. Ltd. (SG102) has been certified as a Petzl Technical Partner since 2021 and are currently able to conduct the following module:

3. Mobile fall arrester for rope (VAX027)
4. Partner Rescue – User (VD000016
