Happy Mother’s Day 🌸
To all the amazing mums out there who deserve the best, here’s a renovation tip that could potentially help you save money while getting better quality carpentry materials for your home.
One of the most overlooked decisions during renovation is actually something hidden behind your laminates — the plywood used for your carpentry.
Many homeowners focus on laminates, colours, and design… but rarely ask deeper questions about the internal material quality.
You may hear terms like:
• “Free upgrade to E0 plywood”
• “Free E0 internal PVC”
• “Free Ecobond glue”
But here are some important questions worth asking:
1️⃣ How many layers of plywood are actually being used?
2️⃣ Does the plywood contain internal voids?
3️⃣ Is it genuinely moisture-resistant?
4️⃣ How dense and solid is the core material?
The difference in plywood quality can significantly affect:
✔ Durability
✔ Moisture resistance
✔ Warping over time
✔ Termite resistance
✔ Indoor air quality
That’s why I always encourage homeowners to physically inspect and compare samples whenever possible.
I’ve also come across a carpentry supplier that sets a very high benchmark when it comes to plywood quality:
✔ Fire-retardant
✔ Waterproof
✔ Strong core construction
✔ Termite-resistant
✔ FSC®-certified with E0 low-emission grade
✔ Safer for families and indoor environments
And if your contractor or ID has never shown you the actual plywood sample before fabrication begins… that’s probably a conversation worth having.
If you’re currently renovating and would like to compare plywood samples against what you’ve been shown, feel free to DM me.
I'll be able to provide you with free samples of the best plywood in Singapore to compare.
And the best gift of all, I'm willing to arrange a secret introduction to the best carpenter in Singapore, so that you can discover first hand that you're able to get better quality materials for the same price that your ID is charging you, or even lower. 🌸
