Studies have shown that people with high EQ are more likely to lead happy, fulfilling and successful lives. In the future world where everything can be accomplished with artificial intelligence, IQ might not be that important anymore. Our education system might need to change. We need to help our children and teens develop creativity, emotional regulation, social skills, and moral values - these are the things that can’t be replaced by robots.

Art therapy helps one to express repressed thoughts and emotions in a safe space and encourages creativity with the help of a qualified Art Therapist. Art therapy can be beneficial for people of all ages.

If you are interested to experience the therapeutic benefits of art therapy, please contact us at 92977475 or drop us a Facebook message to enquire more.

Kids with high EQ have less anxiety and depression—and they can positively manage their feelings. Here's how you can teach your child these skills.

Colorful rice for sensory play. Children love to play with these colorful rice! Add in some toys and watch their imagination run wild! Sensory play helps in brain development too.

In our art therapy sessions, we use all kinds of art materials that are suitable for the child's age. Depending on the needs of each child, the art therapist introduces different materials to help the child expresses his/her feelings and thoughts during the art making process.

A good read for parents.

As a psychotherapist/educator working with children, I've met several types of children. The confident ones, the ones with healthy self-esteem, the over-confident ones, the ones with low confidence, the ones with low self-esteem, the ones who are insecure, the ones who feels secure, the dependent ones, the independent ones.. and the list goes on...

The child's family background, medical issues, their attachment style, and the type of parenting they receive play huge roles in the child's psychological and emotional development. Over-protecting and over-babying a child hinder their self-confidence and self-esteem. Each time we under-estimate our children's capability and do something for them even before they ask for or need our help, we are actually telling them that they are incapable of doing it by themselves and making them believe that they need more help than they really do. Let our children experience the world for themselves and provide help only when they need us to.

An interesting point mentioned in this article is, "As parents, it is invaluable to be aware of when we are using our children to fulfill our own needs. How much does our desire to protect them come from them? And how much does it come from our own need to act as a protector? How often are the hugs we give them to provide affection, and how often are they to take affection from them?"

We're all guilty of over-protective acts that hurt our children.

"Instead of treating children's focusing and behavioral problems with drugs, French doctors prefer to look for the underlying issue that is causing the child distress—not in the child's brain but in the child's social context. They then choose to treat the underlying social context problem with psychotherapy or family counseling. This is a very different way of seeing things from the American tendency to attribute all symptoms to a biological dysfunction such as a chemical imbalance in the child's brain."

French children don't need medications to control their behavior.
