Working With Laura: A short post about personal growth in real life.
This week I had a session with Laura, a young woman who’s currently in a tough phase dealing with a demanding job, relationship uncertainty, and pressure to have her life figured out.
We talked about:
* the fear of not knowing what comes next
* the belief that she’s “too weak”; something she’s carried since childhood
* the feeling of life being too heavy, like it’s pressing down on her
She shared how hard it is to trust herself, and how often she feels like she has to prove her strength, especially in front of people who doubt her.
We did a simple breathing practice to help her reconnect with her body.
At first, she felt tension, heat, and even a bit of dizziness.
But by the end, she was more grounded and could name parts of her body that held pain.
That moment of noticing, naming, and staying with what’s there is where the shift begins.
Before we ended, I gave her a super simple practice:
➡️ 10 conscious breaths with closed eyes, once a day, even if it’s just in the restroom at work.
She’ll also get a short voice recording from me to support her in that daily pause.
This kind of work isn’t fast. It’s not about fixing.
It’s about slowing down enough to notice what’s really happening on the inside and building trust with yourself again.
Does this sounds familiar? 🤍
