V življenju niso najtežje velike odločitve.
Najtežje so tiste majhne, vsakdanje—ker prav tam opazimo, ali zaupamo sami sebi.
In zaupanje vase se ne začne v odraslosti.
Začne se tam, kjer otrok prvič zasliši:
“Poskusi. Zmoreš.”
Ko otroku damo prostor, da izbira, da se zmoti in ponovno poskusi, mu damo nekaj neprecenljivega:
👉 občutek, da je sposoben
👉 občutek, da lahko
👉 občutek, da ima notranji kompas
Ko pa je voden na vsakem koraku, se nauči čakati.
Čakati na navodila.
Čakati na dovoljenje.
Čakati, da drugi vedo bolje.
In tako nastane odrasel, ki dvomi v lastno presojo.
Zato je vprašanje, ki si ga danes postavljamo vsi—starši, voditelji, pedagogi:
Ali ljudje še znamo odločati sami?

Ko otroci rastejo, jih učimo pravil, varnosti, vrednot…
A nekaj, kar pogosto spregledamo, je tudi čas in prostor za odločanje.

Odločitev je več kot izbira.
Je trenutek, ko otrok (ali odrasel) reče:
“Zaupam si. Sprejmem posledice. Zmorem.”

Toda če otrok nima priložnosti, da izbira v varnem okviru, kasneje težko:
• zaupa svojim odločitvam,
• prevzame odgovornost,
• stoji za posledicami,
• reče “to je moja pot”.

In danes – ko je strah pred napako velik in opcij neskončno – ni samo vprašanje, ali znamo izbrati.
Vprašanje je, ali še čutimo, da odločitev lahko sploh pride iz nas.

I once had a guy who wanted a new position—not for the challenge or responsibility, but because he wanted the title to look good on his CV. He believed that with a new title, people would take him seriously. Guess what? They didn’t.

Some time later, due to a department reorganization, I ended up giving him the role he originally wanted. But by then, people still didn’t see him as a leader. Because a title doesn’t make people follow you—it only gives you the authority to tell them what to do.

True leadership is built on trust, influence, and action, not words on a business card. If you want to be a leader, you need to earn it—not expect it.

Yet, it is often seen that managers tend to steer team members towards each other, thinking that by fighting, the overall results would be better.

This is usually also done in a way that they are rewarded for doing so, in a manner that involves hiding things from each other and competing only for their individual bonuses.

I've seen this in a sales organization where no collaboration between team members was present. They were just fighting among themselves, hiding things, trying to manipulate in order to get the products they could sell in the easiest way, etc.

Well, the problem was in the leader and his perception that with this internal fight, the overall results would be better, instead:

-The amount of disorder in the team, as well as in the entire company, was enormous.
-There was no sharing of knowledge, information, and opportunities.
-People were more stressed.
-And the customers were not served properly.

The situation changed:

-Firstly, the leader, who was eventually seen as not capable of leading people but rather he was afraid of his own position.
-The reward system in such a way that the total team result was equally important for each individual as his personal.
-Projects where different members were involved, sharing their knowledge and experience.

The final results were:

-Better sales,
-Better profitability,
-Better atmosphere,
-And a great performing TEAM.

Yes, so don't steer your team into internal fighting; guide them together towards a common goal.
