Business Hive is international case-solving competition for students taking place every spring on School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana. Each year, companies provide cases based on real issues they are facing. Diverse groups of Slovenian and international students are given less than 72 hours to work on a s

olution. After a creative weekend of intense work, they pitch it to the company. Company representatives choose the group with the winning idea which gets rewarded with a cash prize and a reference letter. This unique competitive business weekend aims to give companies creative ideas and even innovations, as well as connect them with ambitious students eager to gain experience.

Entrepreneur, researcher, and founder of ScAIentist®, Luka is building inclusive digital solutions that innovate the way research and higher education work.

Alongside his entrepreneurial journey, he is pursuing a PhD in Entrepreneurship at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, and works as a young researcher at the Institute for Economic Research in Ljubljana.

His work has been recognized with several awards, including the Rector’s Award for one of the best innovations at the University of Ljubljana and two Social Impact Awards (Slovenia & Serbia).

Aleš Pustovrh is employed as an assistant with a doctorate at the Faculty of Economics, where he carries out research, teaching and support activities in the field of economics and entrepreneurship.

He is a co-founder and program manager at the ABC accelerator, where he is responsible for the development of educational programs for start-ups and for accelerating their growth. He also works as a freelancer at The Economist Intelligence Unit and the European Construction Forecasting Association (EECFA). In the past, he worked as a researcher on innovation and innovation policies in the countries of the Adriatic region at the University of Trieste (DEAMS) and as a senior researcher at the Laboratory for Open Innovation Systems at COBIK.

He obtained his doctorate in economic sciences in 2014 in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. His work includes applied research, consulting for companies and cooperation with Slovenian and European business support institutions.

In his free time, he enjoys mountaineering, ski touring and amateur travel.⛰️⛷️
