Institut »Jožef Stefan« je partner v evropskem projektu ZOOOM, ki razvija praktične poslovne in pravne rešitve za tista podjetja in raziskovalce, ki verjamejo v idejo odprtih (prostih) vsebin (proste/odprte programske vsebine, strojna oprema, podatkovne baze, umetna inteligenca - angl. open software, open hardware, open data, artificial intelligence). Gre torej za inovacije, za katere njihovi lastniki ne uveljavljajo pravic intelektualne lastnine oziroma jih lahko vsakdo uporablja v okviru prostih licenc. Vodilni partner projekta je italijanski HUB Innovazione Trentino, v projektu sodeluje 8 evropskih držav, od Slovencev je poleg IJS partner projekta še Univerza na Primorskem. V okviru tega projekta bo v torek 26.3.2026 od 9.00 do 14.30 ure potekala mednarodna delavnica z mreženjem (lokacija : Institut »Jožef Stefan«, Jamova 39, Ljubljana). Ciljna skupina dogodka so predvsem podjetja, start-upi, mladi raziskovalci/znanstveniki in udeleženci podpornega okolja (univerzitetni inkubatorji, pisarne za prenos tehnologij, resorna ministrstva ipd), ki bi radi izvedeli več o prostih/odprtih vsebinah (programske vsebine, strojna oprema, podatkovne baze, umetna inteligenca), njihovem delovanju v praksi, njihovem vplivu na poslovanje ter o pravnih okvirjih v tem segmentu poslovanja. V prvem delu dogodka bomo govorili o trendih na področju odprtih tehnologij ("Emerging trends in open technologies), v drugem delu, ki je bolj praktično naravnan, pa o izzivih startup podjetij na področju odprtih tehnologij ("Startups challenges in open technologies). Dogodka se bodo udeležili priznani mednarodni strokovnjaki in podjetniki iz Italije, Finske, Belgije, Danske in drugih.

Straight from Slovenia, meet Light Up, igniting change with their 100% biodegradable candles!

🌍 Their Mission: With our groundbreaking project, we aim to:

- Combat the accumulation of plastic waste from grave candles, reducing our environmental footprint.
- Ensure proper handling and repurposing of waste cooking oil.
- Drastically decrease the use of harmful plastics.
- Shift away from conventional wax that's reliant on petroleum products, promoting sustainability.
🍳 Addressing the Oil Issue: In Europe and beyond, waste cooking oil remains an unnoticed environmental hazard. It's not just about cooking but the aftermath – improper disposal. Did you know? Just 1 liter of waste oil can contaminate up to 1,000 liters of water.
