A szemszínén kívül is van érdekessége ennek a fajnak: a kárókatonának ugyanis, bár vízimadár, még sincs faggyúmirigye, így nem tudják a tollaikat vízlepergető réteggel bevonni, ami a víz alatti halvadászat alatt teljesen átnedvesedik - ezért is látható sokszor a madár a víz mellett, kitárt szárnyakkal.🇭🇺

🇭🇺Az egyik legismertebb ragadozómadarunk, a vörös vércse. A Budapest belvárosában is költő madár gyakran egy helyben lebegve keresi a zsákmányt. Főleg rágcsálókat, elsősorban mezei pockot, de nyáron sáskát, szöcskét és más rovart is eszik, időnként gyíkokat és madarakat is fog.🇭🇺
