Harvest update - over halfway there! 🌱
We’ve passed the halfway mark of this year’s harvest, and the crop is shaping up beautifully. Overall quality looks above average, which means you can count on consistent, reliable hops with only minimal natural variation.
Savinjski Golding & Styrian Aurora came in a little lighter on yield, just as expected, but its aroma is right in line with the long-term average, balanced and true to its character.
Right now, the process is buzzing along;
Harvesting of flavor varieties & noble hops (Styrian Bobek and Styrian Golding Celeia).
Farmers are delivering fresh bales.
We’re running certification process and detailed lab analyses (moisture, alpha & oil content, HSI levels, sensory evaluations).
And finally, hops are moved into cold warehouses to lock in freshness and prevent any losses.
The weather decided to turn muddy in this last stretch, which keeps growers on their toes (and tractors!) and makes bale deliveries a little trickier. Luckily, hops like to stay dry, nobody wants “wet hops” at this stage. 🙂
