When employees work across borders, their tax and social security obligations can follow them far beyond the country where their employer is registered.

💭 As Kateřina Hrůzová, Tax Adviser and Partner at Accace Czech Republic, explains:

"Many employers and employees assume that tax and social security contributions are payable in the country where the company has its registered office. In practice, the determining factors may include where the employee physically performs the work, where they spend the majority of their time, where their family is based, etc."
