On February 4, 2026 at 09:00, the Open Day on ships in the port of Bratislava was opened.
The opening ceremony on the premises of the passenger ship Harmonia in the Bratislava Passenger Port was held under the baton of the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. The opening was moderated by Milan "Junior" Zimnýkoval.
The event was opened by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport Denisa Žiláková and the State Secretary for Tourism of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports Jana Štilichová, with the participation of representatives of shipping companies and exhibitors.
Following the opening of the event on the ship Harmonia, the guests moved to the ship AmaLea for a discussion on the issue of the shortage of workers in water transport and tourism.
The aim of the joint event of the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Slovak Republic, secondary and higher education institutions and universities, as well as companies operating in the field of water transport, water management, gastronomy, hotel management and tourism services, is to increase the interest of pupils and students in studying in the above-mentioned fields.
The event is intended for pupils and students in the final years of primary and secondary schools, teachers and career counselors. We will introduce visitors on site to what their future career in both sectors could look like, introduce individual professions, and help them choose a suitable field of study. For those who are prepared, there is an opportunity to get a job on a cruise ship after finishing school.
