Every morning at Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary begins with the same quiet question:
Are they all okay today?
Behind the forest canopy, more than 120 rescued chimpanzees rely on daily care. Some are healing from injuries. Others carry the long-term effects of trauma, loss, and the illegal wildlife trade.
Their recovery is not only about food and shelter. It is about careful observation, medical expertise, and the quiet, consistent presence of people who know when something is not right.
Right now, we are still looking for a Senior Manager of Animal Health & Welfare.
Someone who can guide our veterinary team, make complex decisions, and help shape the future of care for every chimpanzee who arrives here.
This is not just a veterinary role. It is a long-term commitment to individuals with names, histories, and personalities.
If you are a veterinarian, or if someone in your world might be ready for work that truly matters, we would love to connect.
