“In a 2012 interview with Egypt’s Al Hayat TV—in the wake of the Arab Spring uprising and democratic optimism there, she (RBG) advised that the South African document was a better model to follow than the American one because of its more recent creation, but also because of its content. .
Having been present in Johannesburg at the 2004 opening of the Constitutional Court, Justice Ginsburg was familiar with the constitution. This may have been in part because of her belief that countries should consider international laws…."

Facebook is moving closer to local talent and key markets with a second African office in Nigeria

“In 2016, Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg visited Nigeria in what was his first trip to sub-Saharan Africa.
While the attraction to the budding tech ecosystem which was already producing some of Africa’s best known startups was obvious, there was also the underlying influence of Facebook’s pool of high-ranking Nigerian-American executives.
Four years later, that influence may be yielding more results as Facebook is set to open its second Africa office in Lagos in the second half of 2021. The office will house a cross-section of Facebook teams from sales, policy, and communications to engineering. It is the company’s latest commitment to Nigeria—Africa’s largest internet market, after it opened a hub space in partnership with Co-Creation Hub, a leading Nigerian startup accelerator, in 2018. Facebook opened its first Africa office in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2015..."

“Nigeria's quiet baron”

Less known than Nigeria’s other major industrialist, Aliko Dangote, Abdul Samad Rabiu heads the BUA Group, today a multi-sector conglomerate whose rapid growth he has masterminded. A major investor, a major employer and a true player driving the country’s industrial policy, investing across agriculture, industry, mining and real estate. In the north of the country, where he’s from, he is a positive counterweight to the dominant position Dangote Cement enjoys elsewhere in Nigeria. His group today accounts for some 15% of the Nigerian cement market and he is a chief proponent of import substitution, which he is tackling by investing in growing sugar and rice.
