At the Weekly Press Conference convened at the Miatta Civic Centre, our Business Development Lead was privileged to participate in a high-level panel alongside Mima Yema Mimi Sobba-Stephens, Deputy Minister of Environment and Climate Change; Walid Bahsoon, Managing Director of Premier Enviro Solutions Ltd; and Tamba Sheiku Bundor, Senior Tourist Officer at the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.
The session, expertly hosted by Mr Mohamed Jaward Nyallay, Strategic Communications Adviser, provided a timely and strategic platform for advancing national discourse on plastic and waste management in Freetown-Go Circular Week Initiative.
In his capacity as Business Development Executive and Waste Management Lead at Alphatek Global SL Limited, he articulated a forward-looking and transformative perspective-one that redefines waste as a strategic resource within a circular economy framework. He underscored Alphatek’s proactive engagement in promoting the Go Circular Week initiative, contributing to heightened national awareness on plastic pollution and sustainable environmental practices with our national and international partners.
Deep diving into the conversation, he highlighted our certified role in the implementation of the “Dorti Mus Go” campaign within Block 8, where we are operationalizing structured waste collection systems, advancing segregation at source, and mobilizing communities and youth as active agents of sustainable waste management.
Looking ahead as a nation, he furthered emphasized the imperative of consolidating gains through deeper collaboration and scaled implementation - one that requires a deliberate strengthening of public awareness mechanisms, consistent enforcement of regulatory frameworks, and the cultivation of inclusive, cross-sector partnerships.
