From Field Visit to Action: Dare to Aspire Mentees Turn Challenges into Opportunities
The Dare to Aspire: Mentored to be a Mentor (M2M) programme held its third Capacity Building Workshop today, 28 August 2026, at the Atlantic Lumley Hotel, Freetown.
Building on the practical exposure gained during yesterday’s field visit, mentees engaged in two interactive sessions focused on career development, entrepreneurship, leadership and decision-making.
During the Career Development, Entrepreneurship and Product Skills session, mentees worked in groups to identify challenges affecting their communities, explore who is impacted, and develop possible solutions.
Key takeaway: Every challenge can reveal an opportunity to create solutions and value.
The Leadership and Decision Making session encouraged mentees to reflect on their motivations and how self-awareness influences the way they lead and make decisions.

From field exposure to practical learning and reflection, the workshop equipped mentees with the mindset and confidence to turn challenges into opportunities and learning into action.
