FINIC Stainless Rice Parboiler

Rice parboiling is a process done for the following reasons:

1. Nutrients transfer from the bran (brownish thin layer of the rice immediately after the chaff) to the kernel of the rice.
2. Makes the rice tough against breakages during milling

3. Provide a hard surface on the rice kernel against weevils attack.

4. Prolong the shelf life of the rice.

The process involves soaking in Luke warm water for a period not less than 10 hours, steaming for a duration lasting for 15 - 20 minutes and drying.

The traditional practice of the process is almost always conducted by women and it often exposes them to danger as it is backbreaking and steam burns hazardous.

The FINIC Rice parboiler transcends the traditional practices by innovative design means of having the soaking and steaming processes done in one container and allows discharge of the rice done with ease without risking steam burns. It is a great design for rice processors that has not been seen before.

The design is exemplary for the following reasons:

1. Soaking tank and steam generator are made integral. Does not require soaking of rice in a separate container.

2. Has a batch capacity of 400kg (8 bags)

3. The parboiling processlasts for about 20 minutes.

4. Has an excellent system of steam distribution that ensures that each rice grain receives an equal share of the heat.

5. The firebox is well lagged with clay bricks to reduce heat loss and thus reduce the use of biomass as fuel.

6. Equipped with a chimney that protudes beyond the roof of the processing house and thus eliminates the danger of smoke inhalation.

7. Discharge of rice after the parboiling process is made very easy unlike the traditional practice.

8. Discharge of water to drain water from the soaking and steaming chambers is made easy by just opening a tap.

8. All parts that contact the rice are made of stainless materials.

9. Same equipment serves well for cashew steaming.

FINIC Potato Tubers Chiping Machine - First Run Test.

Test results were encouraging but more tweaking is needed. Our target is 500kg (10 bags each of 50kg) per hour. In this test we recorded 300kg (6 bags each of 50kg) per hour. Do not mind the sqeaking noise there. It will be taken care of. One will wonder why showcase this and not wait until all is gotten right? We want to showcase part of our struggle.

FINIC Cashew Nuts Parboiler

In the stead of roasting cashew nuts prior to peeling, majority of folks prefer paboiling for valid reasons.

The equipment can accomodate 200kg per batch and each batch lasts for 2 hours.

What you see oozing out there is steam, not smoke. Smoke is taken out of the factory through the roof by a chimney.

This newly designed and manufactured Dough Keading Machine by FINIC does not only knead flour for bread baking but also does the following:

1) pound gari into Eba

2)Pound Banku

3) Blends various feed components of any type.

Maximum batch capacity is 1 bag (50kg). A batch lasts for 20 minutes.

What you see here as though water is boiling with a mixture of rice flour, is not water at all but rather air, rice flour and rice balls (Rice Papp) going through a dehydration process.
