*RELEASE ON MARCH 2ND MISS COMAHS*
It has come to my attention and I have received several calls and messages from many concerned pageant lovers regarding the first ever Miss COMAHS that was held at the Family Kingdom on the 2ND, March 2019 at the Family Kingdom as they have expressed disappointment in the outcome. I will like to make a few things clear.
1. I was approached in January this year by a group of students representing the student body executive of COMAHS asking for a partnership to organize the pageant. We agreed on percentage basis of proceeds and after sharing our tasks, I went to work.
2. I not only spearheaded the auditioning of the contestants, I personally took charge to train and mentor them for the competition spending time and my personal resources.
3. As the professional in the pageant field, my responsibilities were not only limited to auditioning and also training of the contestants, I was also tasked with the responsibility of choosing credible judges for the pageant.
4. I had recommended judges and deliberated on the Chief Judge together with the President of the COMAHS Student Association. We had agreed on the Chief Judge and I had already sought her consent and she approved to serve as chief judge on the night.
5. That upon getting to Family Kingdom on the night of the pageant, I had realized that not only did the students not allow my representative at the gate to confirm attendance and revenue, they had brought Judges that were completely new to me and had also chosen a different Chief Judge.
6. I registered my disagreement and protested to their sudden change of plans but was virtually incapable of doing anything as they had already informed the judges to take their seats including the new Chief Judge that I had no say in his appointment and had no knowledge about him until I saw him on the night of the show.
7. Not only did it take about 72 hours after the show before the students got back to me on revenue generated, but their reluctance to report about events on the night was hastened by my decision to take legal action against them if they didn’t come with a tangible explanation as to what happened on the night of the contest.
8. That a winner was announced and even as I wish that Winner best of luck, it is evident that it was never a popular decision. I will stand by this anywhere.
Therefore, based on all the above, I hereby distance myself completely from the result of the March 2nd MISS COMAHS PAGEANTRY and would like to sever all business ties with the said students executive forthwith.
I thank you all.
