The current business dynamic in West Africa is undergoing a period of significant transformation driven by a number of factors, not least globalisation and the Internet. Traditionally states of Francophone West Africa looked to France for the vast majority of its commercial relationships, but there is now a desire amongst the business community in Senegal and elsewhere to explore a broader range of options. Equally, UK companies, whilst traditionally somewhat reticent about venturing into non-Anglophone Africa have begun to recognise that there is real scope to develop meaningful and mutually beneficial business relationships.
