Ostan Group – Alhamdulillah we have concluded our training with the Business and Financial Management in Gardo, Puntland on the 3rd January 2019. The training as expected was well attended by the fishing community in Gardo, showing much interest in the topics through engaging in the training. The participants and the senior management of the fishing ministry request for more capacity building trainings in the sector.

Ostan Group – Another and highly engaging and successful training for Bosaaso fishing community. The training objectives was to highlight the significance of forming an association while reorganise the fishing sector to increase their productivity and profitability. Over 40 key stakeholders attended the training, while discussing and identifying the critical challenges they face daily, whereas they agreeing the only way forward is to establish an organisation that work for the interest of the fishery community. Additionally, Somali Fair Fishing Saddam Ahmed Abwaanka and government representative, provided useful information on how they can support and help the fishing community.

Ostan Group – provided a Business & financial management training in Bosaaso, Puntland. The training was well attended by many segments of the fishing community since Bosaaso is a key region that contributes to the fishing sector of not only Puntland but also in Somalia. Thus, the training was much needed by the fishing community, most of the participants highlighted the significant impact the trying will have on the business, additional request further training.

Somali Fair Fishing, regional coordinator, Saddam Ahmed Abwaanka provided information concerning how Bosaaso fishery community can collaborate work together to create well-functioning fisheries center that contributes to the food shortage the country experience from time to time. Additionally, a senior operations manager of the Ministry of Fishing gave important speech and advice on the government policies for the sector and the importance of benefiting from the capacity building training so they could gain the business process needed to grow the fishing sector.

Ostan Group through Fair Fishing provided a vital and equally beneficial training to Somaliland fishing sector (POFF members etc.) in Berbera. The training mainly covered the importance and the benefits of forming a fishing association, moreover Ostan group legal team highlighted the legality aspect of forming associations in Somaliland. It was a delightful to see so many fishermen and women attend this important training and attain the necessary information and knowledge to move forward in creating a sustainable fishing sector in Somaliland.

Furthermore, It was an honor and pleasure to welcome the Minister of Fishery and livestock, Hon. Hassan Mohammed Ali (Gafadhi), Regional Coordinator for Fishery Mr. Ahmed Abdi Ismeal and Senior Manager of the Ministry, Yassim Yusuf, on our 4th Capacity Building Training for Somaliland fishing sector. In addition, we had Senior Fair Fishing team including Vice Chairman, Mahad Farah, whom all participated and provided important government policies and appropriate information to the fisheries.

It was a delightful to see so many fishermen and women attend this important training and attain the necessary information and knowledge to move forward in creating a sustainable fishing sector in Somaliland.

Ostan group in partnership with Fair Fishing has concluded its final business and financial management training in Somaliland (Berbera) However, our training will continue in Putland in the coming weeks. Today’s training was Attended by 35 participant and they showed excellent interest especially, the bookkeeping and the legal requirements presentation of fishing companies.

Today’s training was Attended by 35 participant and they showed excellent interest especially, the bookkeeping and the legal requirements presentation of fishing companies, which was presented by Dr. Osman (former General Director of ministry of Business).

Additionally, Yasmin Yusuf who is currently a senior manager of the ministry of fishing, provided excellent and very informative information to the trainees regarding the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
