Biogas is a renewable bioenergy resource generated through the anaerobic digestion of organic materials, including livestock manure, agricultural residues, food waste, and other biodegradable biomass. In the absence of oxygen, anaerobic microorganisms decompose organic matter, producing a methane-rich gas primarily composed of methane (CH₄) and carbon dioxide (CO₂). This biogas can be utilized as a sustainable fuel for cooking, heating, electricity generation, and transportation, while the residual digestate serves as a nutrient-rich organic fertilizer.
