SIX. There are six surviving coffee trees on this farm. The owner, Mohammad Omar, told us that his grandma brought the coffee trees decades ago, around the 80s. This means that these plants are around the same age as Somaliland.
Finally, after decades of survival, the green coffees meet us. We hulled the dried cherries and turned them into specialty grade nano-lot. A lot of effort for this special coffee. We promised that their survival won't be in vain.
It took us days, but the result is so worth it. Fruity taste with intense sweetness, light-medium body, and boozy hints. It reminds me of anaerobic natural Arabica that can easily score at least 84 on SCA form. Then, we developed the best roast profile that highlights this lot's strength.
"Can coffee grow in Somaliland?"
YES. Against all odds, we can grow coffee in Somaliland. Though it takes perseverance, the cup quality won't lie. This 2025 Horo Hadley coffee is available on our website and won't last long. Enjoy. โจ
