Elder Statesman Bona Malual Madut Ring Dies at 97

South Sudan is mourning the passing of Hon. Bona Malual Madut Ring, a revered statesman, diplomat, and political thinker whose influence spanned generations. He passed away at the age of 97.

Born on January 1, 1928, Bona Malual was one of South Sudan’s founding intellectuals and among the most distinguished figures in the nation’s political history. Throughout his long career, he championed peace, unity, and the cultural preservation of South Sudanese identity—values that defined his public service and leadership.

His legacy remains deeply woven into the country’s journey toward independence and stability. Funeral and memorial arrangements will be announced in due course.

The fighting was between National security officers and Military Intelligence officers who were assigned to manage Mapau checkpoints!. NSS was escorting Minister Hon. Makuei Lueth to Bor town.

The MI officers stopped Makuei from going to Bor, demanding a letter of departure from Bol Mel, the acting head of Juba cartels, Makuei declined to comply with the said request and told the officers, Two MI officers plus one fat official were killed in actions by Makuei Soldiers!.

As we speak, Makuei is at the small army barrack near Bilnyang waiting for more forces to take him back to Juba or to Red Belt HQ.

SPLM has condemned Nhial Deng Nhial’s announcement of plans to form a new political party.

Speaking at a press conference held this morning at the SPLM National Secretariat in Juba, Bol Makueng Yuol, the party’s Secretary for Political Affairs, Mobilization, and Organization, dismissed Nhial’s claims as false and insisted that the SPLM has not lost its vision.
