Its unfortunate I've not been updating Faces of Janoub the last few weeks. A lot has been happening and kept me busy while evaluating a way to move forward with this initiative. To have progressed this far is a testament of how innovative the arts industry is and so i welcome any contributions of personalities who should feature on this page.

While I'd have spent weeks reading up history and old treatise, the knowledge on display here by Hon. Arop Madut Arop, a man whose extensive understanding I've benefitted from while working as a junior editor, shows the importance of having cross cultural and intergenerational discussions to build on already existing knowledge. Working of Faces of Junub there's so much to pool from and such online resources are thankfully available:

Hon. Arop Madut Arop - MP for Abyei in the Parliament of Southern Sudan- discusses the results of the South Sudan referendum. This event - Abyei: the litmus ...

This morning's songbird-Adit, is an appreciation for poetry and who has been inspirational on my journey to understanding poetry and finding my voice through it. She was the first person i ever asked to orate the poem 'Nyankiir' at Korbandi Saloon & did it justice.

Adit/Songbird

Glide, slide
Swing in the wind.
Bring my mind
Home to rest.
As you weave
A new wave
Holding my knave
From a close shave.

Welcome to Faces of Junub where we discuss pertinent issues in and in this global movement for decolonizing our minds.

This week i invite to discuss the stalled National Dialogue process that holds the promise for constitutional reform. 10 years since the last general election was held in the country and 6 years since the civil war began, the question of constitutional reform lingers until the National Conference is held in

As the moderator for this discussion, i welcome opinions on how to bring progress to this with suggestions on how the newly reconstituted government of National Unity can ensure a new constitutional dispensation is availed at the end of its 3 year term leading to a Referendum.

All opinions posted in this discussion are done at one's discretion and for voice notes please reach out via whatsapp. This discussion shall be featured on Thursday's FACES of JUNUB weekly podcast available on SoundCloud:
