DOUBLE DOWN !!
I'm often asked to speak about the current crime situation in major cities around the world. Surprisingly, the question arises more often when the current climate seems to be less visible or subsiding. There are a few things we all need to remember. Non reported crime is rampant, especially in areas where tourism is the main industry. For obvious reasons, publicity is often not welcome when crime is the main subject. This is not always about the money, but often, the victims of crime feel they can't report crime due to resident status or retaliation as well as the inherent distrust for law enforcement. If you find yourself currently living in an area that is overwhelmed with crime, it's easy to see it . It's all around you, and often the main topic in the media. If your fortunate enough to live in an area where crime seems to be less visable that's great but don't make the mistake than many places do, such as defund private security or question the need to secure your assets. This is the time to double down. Increase and support the current success you're realizing. Think about it if you owned a retail store and you had a product that was successful, you wouldn't take it off the shelves, would you ? Many people think security is not a revenue generating source. I strongly disagree. In the long game, every industry does better with proper security and regulations within reason. That basic strategy just means people want to feel safe and want their assets to be safe. The result will be more investment and increased value in every aspect of their lives. Look at NYC , Seattle, and San Francisco currently . All three recently dubbed as the safest , cleanest best places to live in America. What happened ? The answer is a few words back. Double Down on your success , it's much more difficult to get back to being that safe , quality of life we all deserve and strive for than to just double down and make it even better. Don't underestimate that the private security sector in most areas do an amazing job under difficult circumstances, most often under major budget restraints . Double Down and thank the next security officer you where you shop, and live. Be safe everyone.
