🪐☄️ A major milestone begins today, May 16, 2026: sending TIGERS-X, a Thai-developed project, to the International Space Station
Dr. Potiwat Ngamkhajornwiwat, a lecturer in Robotics and Automation Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM), is one of the researchers in the TIGERS-X project (Thailand Innovative G-force Varied Emulsification Research for Space Exploration).
The project is led by the Chulabhorn Royal Academy, in collaboration with partner organizations. Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM) is one of the key contributors, responsible for engineering—particularly the automated laboratory system, which allows researchers in Thailand to control experiments remotely without relying on astronauts to conduct them.
Importance of TIGERS-X
This is the first Thai medical research experiment conducted in orbit. Let’s support the research team as they proudly send their experiment aboard the SpaceX Dragon by SpaceX to the International Space Station.
The mission focuses on drug-mixing experiments in space, studying the process of emulsification, which is a fundamental mechanism in the production of food and pharmaceuticals—both on Earth and in space.
This mission connects science, engineering, medicine, education, and international collaboration—from a laboratory on Earth to a real laboratory aboard the International Space Station.
CP ALL x PIM are driving this major space initiative, in collaboration with SPACETH, capturing live moments from the launch site at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The SPACETH team is preparing a special video series to tell the story of the mission, aiming to inspire youth and prove that:
“Space is not far away” and “Thai people can do it.”
