Most people are not stuck because they cannot change.

They are stuck because they are living on autopilot.
Pull the Chute. Jeff Sesol and Janna Landry. Season 5, Episode 100.
We did not talk about blowing up your life. We talked about 1%.
Atlanta 1996. World record. Then the real question: what now?
I went to Thailand with almost no money because I could not keep living a version of myself. There you cannot hide behind a title. You are either real, or you leave.
Resilience is not ignoring the obstacle.

It is choosing purpose on a normal day.
What gives you energy?

What still gives you joy?

What is the next 1% — today?

New episode is live.

Limitless Podcast with Jonathan Roseland — "Defying Dire Destiny."

Born clinically dead for 45 minutes. Doctors didn't expect me to walk.

I went on to set a Paralympic world record.

We talked about the performance mask, authenticity, boundaries — and what it actually takes to live without them.

One year we bought 17 living room tables.
16 of them were smashed.

My mother was beaten the same day I was born.
I got cerebral palsy for life.

I grew up in addiction and chaos.
Everyone involved is dead now.

I call it the perfect coaching school.
If you can use it.

Without that chaos I might never have broken a world record.

The question was never what happened.
The question is what you do with it.

Tomorrow it will be 30 years since I broke the world record in Atlanta. I felt nothing.
17 years in Thailand. 13 years in Sweden before that.
Life choices can feel like daily trauma — or daily possibility. How do you ever really know if the choice is right?
What is the meaning of it all? Questions we chase our whole lives, or push down so we don’t have to feel them.
But every day is extraordinary. Every second is extraordinary. Just to be able to breathe.
Am I breathing in the right place in my life — or did circumstances simply bring me here? Was I brave enough, or did I hide behind masks that were never really mine?
I live in a fishing village a few hours from Bangkok. Everything here has a quiet rhythm, like the soft lapping of the sea when it seems still. But the sea is never still.
Life is never still either. We only think it is. Change is the only constant. The only thing you can truly rely on.
In a few milliseconds everything can turn to chaos — or become extraordinary. That is the lapping of life.
You have to stop in order to hear it.
I believe the next wave, the next turn, will take me closer to the life I’m meant for. The best is always ahead.

August 16, 1996. Atlanta Paralympics.
I broke the world record in the long jump — 4.98 meters.
Six seconds in the air.
15,000 hours of training behind it.
I still meet very few people who have ever held a world record.
It is a strange and rare thing. Once you have it, no one can take it away.
Most people don’t know the classification system.
In the combined final I finished 6th.
In my own class, T35, it was a world record.
That difference still matters to me.
Today I look back at those six seconds and the years that followed.
Some moments change the direction of a life.
What moment changed yours?

Sometimes a conversation just flows in a way that makes time disappear.
I spent over two hours talking with Kevin McNulty, but it honestly felt like twenty minutes. We went deep into life, identity, what success really does to us, and how easy it is to keep performing long after it stops feeling meaningful.
It became one of those rare conversations where you feel both seen and challenged at the same time.
The episode will be out in about a week on Grow Yourself. If you’re someone who’s done a lot on the outside but still feels something is missing on the inside, I think this one might hit home.

Born dead for 45 minutes.

Told I would never walk.

Today I live pain-free in Thailand with a freedom I once thought was impossible.

In this conversation with Philippa on Gen Purpose, I share the real story — the hard parts, the turning points, and the small daily shifts that changed everything.

If you’ve ever felt that success doesn’t always bring the happiness you expected, this one might speak to you.

To be authentic is harder than most people think.
Especially when you’ve spent years performing.
