"Signboard Tax" is a local tax levied on business signs and is paid to the local administrative authority where the sign is located.

How to Install CCTV Cameras Without Violating Thailand's PDPA?

Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) regulates how organizations collect, use, and disclose personal data.

Personal data is not only names or ID numbers. It also includes photos, video footage, and audio recordings that can identify a person. This means recording images or sound through CCTV cameras is considered a form of personal data collection.

If you install CCTV cameras for business purposes, such as in offices, factories, shops, restaurants, or other business premises, make sure your CCTV system complies with the PDPA.

Failure to comply may result in criminal penalties (imprisonment and up to 1,000,000 THB fines), civil liability (compensation for damages to the data subject), and administrative fines of up to 5,000,000 THB.

It is better to make sure your CCTV system complies with the PDPA before any problems arise.

New Labor Law Update! Are Employers Ready?
Mandatory Employee Welfare Fund, effective October 1, 2025
A new requirement has been added: Employers with ≥10 employees must provide one of the following Welfare Fund options for their employees:
✔ Join the Employee Welfare Fund via the Department of Labor Protection & Welfare
✔ Set up an Employer-Managed Welfare Fund
✔ Set up a Provident Fund

The easiest option?
Join the Employee Welfare Fund via the Department of Labor Protection & Welfare:
1. Register your employees
2. Submit monthly contributions from both employer and employees.
📅October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2030: Each contributes 0.25% of monthly salary.
📅From October 1, 2030, onward: Each contributes 0.5% of monthly salary.

Make sure your business is ready to comply with this new obligation.
