CERAMIC INCENSE TRAY

This ceramic incense tray is crafted from high-quality stoneware and fired at 1,230°C in an oxidation atmosphere, resulting in a dense, durable body with a crisp, refined tactile finish.

The glaze is developed on a feldspar base, enhanced with magnesium to create a crawling or break effect, and subtly blended with a small amount of wood ash. This combination produces a surface with natural depth and character while preserving the definition and integrity of the underlying texture, giving each piece its own distinctive appearance.

Its character lies not only in the intended finish, but also in the fine, delicate fissures formed during firing and glaze movement. These markings vary from piece to piece, making every tray uniquely individual and a true expression of this technique.

A collection of ten incense scents, numbered 01–10, presented in a distinctive black stick form. Composed from wood powder and natural charcoal, each piece is made to carry a different scent and atmosphere, allowing a more personal and intuitive way of choosing what lingers in the space.

Encased in a smoothly finished wooden box with softened edges, the object is defined by a quiet sense of refinement. Small metal elements are hand-inlaid individually across the surface, adding a subtle rhythm of detail and craftsmanship. Designed to remain beyond its original function, the box also serves as an incense tray, becoming part of the ritual itself.

FROM ASH TO A NEW CHAPTER.
The new space is shaped by a quiet story of ash and smoke. Tones, textures, and the fine grain of ash, together with the translucent, almost opaque quality of smoke, are distilled and reduced into simple, precise details throughout the space. Selected ceramic surfaces are glazed using real ash, allowing the furniture to carry a subtle trace of what has burned, faded, and gently begun again.
