Learning and Education 2030 Networking Group

Learning and Education 2030 Networking Group The Learning and Education 2030+ (LE2030+) Networking Group unites partners for collaboration, peer learning, and advocacy for SDG 4 in Asia-Pacific.

Founded in 2016, it supports advocacy and monitoring by linking regional efforts with global mechanisms. The Learning and Education2030+ Networking Group serves as the regional coordination mechanism, and the Asia-Pacific Meeting on Education2030 (APMED2030) serves as the regional consultation platform for the exchange of knowledge, best practices and support to countries in all aspects of the imp

lementation and monitoring of SDG4-Education 2030. The Learning and Education2030+ (LE2030+) Networking Group hosts the annual APMED2030, through which, regional inputs to global level consultation and policy dialogue will be generated and contributed. Under the umbrella of LE2030+, the SDG4 National Coordinators’ Network was formed as the main body for policy-level discussions and endorsement of regional-level recommendations coming out of APMED2030, or other work and initiatives of the LE2030+. The regional coordination mechanism also brings together the following sub-regional organizations: the South East Asia Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), the Association of South Asian Nations (ASEAN), the South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), and the Pacific Island Forum (PIF). Each sub-regional organization has its own education sector strategies aligned with SDG4-Education 2030, and these entities also participate in broader regional-level efforts. Given the vast geographical spread of the Asia-Pacific, the sub-regional organizations play a significant role in the efficient coordination of regional-level actions, and they contribute to the implementation of the three thematic areas of the regional roadmap, i.e. advocacy, capacity building and monitoring, within their respective sub-regional contexts. The Asia-Pacific SDG4-Education2030 projects are funded by the generous support of the Government of Japan through its Fund-in-Trust (FIT). The support provided has enhanced the regional mechanism for coordination, advocacy, and monitoring of the education agenda in this region. To learn more, visit our website:

📚 Education works best when young people have a real say in how they learn. ✍🏻

This International Day of Education, we asked youth from the Learning and Education 2030 Networking Group how education can be co-designed to be inclusive, relevant, and future-ready.

UNESCO continues to advance by strengthening education systems and elevating youth voices as drivers of education transformation.

The number of children and young people has risen for the seventh consecutive year, up to 273 million, driven by population growth, crises, and shrinking budgets. This is the main finding of the 2026 GEM Report Unesco, the world’s reference on the state of education.

One in six children of school age worldwide are excluded from education, and only two in three students complete secondary school. Yet many countries are making significant progress, highlighting the importance of national context when setting targets and designing policies.

🌏 Education systems perform best when the people they serve help shape them.📚

For young people and students, participation in education decision-making is closely linked to the relevance, legitimacy and effectiveness of public policy.

International 2026 focuses on youth as co-creators of education at a time of rapid technological change, growing inequality and rising demands for democratic accountability.

The question is no longer whether youth should be involved in education governance, but whether participation is meaningful enough to influence decisions in practice.

Bangkok Climate Action Week matters because it brings together people who drive climate solutions in Asia’s cities and communities.

From 28 September to 4 October 2025, Bangkok will host a regional platform where diverse stakeholders share practical strategies for resilience, equity, and sustainability. And INECC will be there as well.

This year, our sessions focus on three priorities.
- Accessible climate finance.
- Practical green skills for a just transition.
- Localised adaptation and mitigation that turn plans into changes communities can feel.

INECC’s goal is clear: to keep people at the centre and make cities climate-ready.

You can access the registration links for our sessions here: https://shorturl.at/Cj43v
