25 years later, many of us still remember where we were when we heard the news.

September 11, 2001 began in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania, but its impact reached far beyond the United States. Across borders, nationalities and generations.

Today, we remember the 2,977 people who lost their lives that day. We remember their families and loved ones, the first responders, and all those whose lives were forever changed.

And we remember those who, in the years and decades that followed, lost their lives to illnesses linked to their exposure in the aftermath. A human toll that did not end on September 11.

For an international community spread across countries and continents, some moments remind us just how deeply connected our lives can be.

Today, wherever we are in the world, we remember them.

Over 2.7 million people in Southern Thailand are affected by the worst flooding in 25 years, across nine provinces including Hat Yai. Heavy rains, limited drainage, and geographic vulnerabilities have made the situation extremely challenging, and local rescuers are struggling with shortages of boats and equipment to reach everyone in need.

It’s natural to feel powerless from afar, but even small actions can make a real difference for families and communities struggling right now. Here’s how you can help.

Benjamin Danielou was just 21 when a scooter accident in Thailand in 2005 put him in a long-term coma.
Today, after 20 years, he passed away in France at the age of 41, according to public reports.

Benjamin was a young man with dreams, plans, and a life ahead of him. His story is heartbreaking and a stark reminder of how quickly everything can change on the road.

Scooter accidents are one of the most common causes of serious injuries and deaths in Thailand. Every year, families face situations like Benjamin’s. Sudden, unexpected, and life-changing.

If you live in or visit Thailand :
1. Always wear a helmet
2. Don’t drink and drive
3. Avoid speeding
4. Stay alert and drive carefully
5. Never travel without proper travel insurance

Benjamin’s story is a reminder of the very sad and real consequences of road accidents.
