20 years ago this month, I wrote this to myself and read it thousands of times! I earned $16,000 that year. Notice I never asked for money. This has been one of my secret weapons.
It reads: My definite of purpose is one which is simple in context but involves steps which, in the past were difficult. My plan shall improve over the course of my life but 5 years is the maximum time I have to accomplish this Definite Purpose. I shall, within 5 years develop the skills and habits that those before me have used to develop Wealth & Riches. Those skills and habits are to be a Possibility Thinker, A do it now Attitude, a Server of people, to have a closer spiritual relationship with my God. To be disciplined in all my task, to make friends wherever I go, to have a commitment to continuity, to set an example for those to follow my lead. To speak those things which I don't have now, but will have using the skills of which I speak. To set goals and develop plans to achieve them and work the plan until the job is done. To be the best that I can be. These skills and habits of which I speak are all contributing factors of my Definiteness of Purpose. I will be a Diamond by or before
August 31,2000. Because it's the right thing to do.
