Nowadays, “Tang Yuak” or banana trunks carving is a traditional craft that is rarely found in Thailand. It’s commonly used in ceremonies and rituals as temporary decorations.

Wat Ratchabophit was built during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) and features a unique layout, with its wiharn and ubosot connected by a circular courtyard with the golden chedi (43m high) in the center. It is covered with orange-coloured tiles which can be seen only at Wat Phra Kaew /Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram (Temple of the Emerald Buddha)
Worth a visit next time if you are in Bangkok!
