📌 [23/09/2026] Voice of ASEAN – Southeast Asia Trade and Development Forum 2026

Jantarath Korbuakesorn, Head of Membership, Events & Communications represented GTCC at the Southeast Asia Trade and Development Forum 2026 in Bangkok.

The forum brought together policymakers, international organisations, academics, and business leaders to discuss ASEAN's future development and competitiveness. Key discussions centred on ASEAN Vision 2045, highlighting priorities such as regional integration, resilience, future-readiness, agility, and the creation of greater value through stronger participation in regional and global value chains.

The exchange also provided valuable perspectives on trade diversification, digital integration, supply chain resilience, and the role of SMEs in supporting sustainable economic growth across the region.

GTCC appreciates the opportunity to join this timely dialogue on the future of ASEAN and regional economic cooperation.

Thailand's largest authentic Oktoberfest today welcomed almost 640 guests raising their steins for another unforgettable night of the genuine Bavarian celebration!

Tonight, we were honored to welcome distinguished guests for the traditional beer keg tapping ceremony: Ebba Scholl, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Germany, along with Oliver Schnatz, GTCC President, and Matthias Hoffmann, GTCC Executive Director.

And then... O'zapft is! was officially opened.

From wooden Festzelt benches to live Bavarian entertainment, we delivered the authentic German experience: Live band straight from Bavaria; Tasty German feasts; Genuine Oktoberfest beers; Exciting games; Lucky draws; After-party with live DJ keeping the energy lively!

🍻 ROUND TWO: O’ZAPFT IS!

Starting with the traditional beer keg tapping ceremony, led by Ebba Scholl, Chargé d'Affaires of the German Embassy Bangkok, together with GTCC President and Executive Director, guests raised their glasses alongside honoured guests and distinguished representatives from the German-Thai business community.

From the beer tapping and Bavarian beats to authentic beers, delicious food, the night continued with joyful music from Ozapft, the Bavarian Band, games, lucky draws and a DJ-fuelled after-party — we danced till the very end! 🎶

Thailand's largest authentic Oktoberfest kicked off today!

GTCC Oktoberfest 2026 welcomed 670 guests to Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit for a night of Bavarian celebration.

All eyes were on the traditional beer keg tapping ceremony, led by His Excellency Michael Reiffenstuel, German Ambassador-Designate to Thailand, GTCC President Oliver Schnatz, and GTCC Executive Director Matthias Hoffmann.

GTCC Oktoberfest is more than beer, food, and music — it's about bringing our community together with the energy of the world's most famous beer festival.

⚒️[16/09/2026] Three-Party Meeting on DVET in German Standard

Preparing to launch a new chapter for electrician apprentices in Chiang Mai. 🔧 The GTDEE Senior Manager joined a meeting organised by Don Bosco Technological College and Bluechip Microhouse Co., Ltd. to discuss the strategic plan and timetable for the DVET Electrician Apprenticeship Programme batch 2027.
More than 30 students from the Electrical and Mechanical Programmes joined for a company introduction session — a valuable opportunity for students and families based in Chiang Mai and nearby areas.

The collaboration timeline includes:
-Signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
-Training the trainers according to German standards
-Collaborative work planning between technical teachers and qualified trainers
-Student pre-selection
-Electrician Apprenticeship Programme launch, starting mid-May 2027

⚒️[17/09/2026] Monitoring Project-Based Learning Approach

Building tomorrow's automation skills, today. Project-Based Learning aims to develop employability skills among young people — the readiness to conduct themselves professionally, responsibly, and sustainably.
The GTDEE Senior Manager Dr. Kamonsak Suradom monitored Project-Based Learning for Mechatronics students in Por-Wor-Sor Year 2 at Eastern Technological College (E.Tech), who conducted a workshop on a sorting automation control system aligned with robotic control. Together with the Deputy Head of the Mechatronics Department, he provided the students with a standard logbook to record their activities and progress between training at companies. The students worked as a team to improve productivity and build upon the work completed by the previous batch of students last year.
The students are scheduled to begin their internships at companies within the E.Tech network from 2 November 2026 to 27 February 2027.

⚒️[17/09/2026] Workshop on Quality Management Concept for Mechatronics Students

Quality is a skill, not just a standard. GTDEE/GTCC organised a workshop on the Quality Management Concept, part of our collaborative efforts to prepare students before they begin developing their work plans for the Project-Based Learning (PBL) programme. The workshop was led by an expert from TGPS, KMUTNB.
Project-Based Learning serves as a core framework within the German Dual Vocational Education and Training (VET) system, particularly for complex, multidisciplinary fields such as Mechatronics. Combining mechanics, electronics, and computer science, Mechatronics requires students to transition from theoretical knowledge to practical, real-world applications.
The Quality Management Concept is therefore an important component of our VET collaboration programme — a priority area for developing students' knowledge and skills, and preparing them to apply quality management principles effectively in their project-based learning activities.

⚒️[17/09/2026] German-Thai Students’ Collaborative Co-Working Projects

"Made in Germany" meets "Made in Thailand." The GTDEE Senior Manager joined an online meeting on VET development between Berufskolleg Platz der Republik, Germany, and E.Tech, Thailand. Participating technical teachers from both colleges presented concrete project ideas and discussed the development timeline.
The meeting was part of the working group between the two colleges under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on school partnership cooperation, officially signed and renewed in 2024.
Discussions focused on co-project design and production by groups of students from Germany and Mechatronics students at E.Tech, Thailand, who worked together on concrete project ideas related to sustainability concepts. The co-design process aims to combine German and Thai ideas, developing projects collaboratively between the two countries.
