“Thoughts While Shaving™” from Len Fuchs #979

Celebrating our 19th year of weekly Common Sense Leadership Principles emails.

1. Leaders understand that it doesn’t matter how smart they are, it is how smart they act.

2. In any organization, the real leadership challenge is all about people.

3. A successful organization teaches employees how to be more of a leader than just an employee.

4. Employees are enabled to develop and execute their ideas in organizations with strong leadership cultures.

5. Selling, strategizing, and speaking outside of the executive office are essential parts of leading an organization.

6. Leaders that make their employees feel like owners and make them feel connected to the vision/mission and values of the organization are usually very successful.

Just a few thoughts to help you maintain focus this week.

Warm regards from Arizona,
Len

Celebrating our 19th year of weekly Common Sense Leadership Principles emails.

1. The best leaders know where all great organizations start – it’s the people.

2. Leaders who are not a catalyst for change probably won’t last long.

3. Part of being a leader is assuring those in the organization that someone is in control.

4. Leaders have found that the more balanced their life and the more diverse their interest, the more creative they become.

5. Leaders stretch peoples’ comfort levels in a way that teases their minds just enough to push them to think in a new space.

6. If you want to grow as a leader get a mentor. Mentors help you see things in a way that you might not have thought about.

Just a few thoughts to help you maintain focus this week.

Warm regards from Arizona,
Len

1. Organizations will go all out for leaders who don’t waste their time.

2. Organizations with good leadership attract good people.

3. Poor leadership is one reason individuals become bored with an organization.

4. Knowing the principles of good leadership is not enough; the techniques must also be known.

6. Leaders owe it to their organization to require high standards which are for the organization’s benefit even though they may not be popular at the moment.

Celebrating our 19th year of weekly Common Sense Leadership Principles emails.

1. When things go wrong, start searching for the reason with increasingly larger concentric circles around your own desk.

2. As a leader, you must go after the facts; the facts won’t come to your desk.

3. An organization does well those things the leader checks.

4. Providing good direction to the organization is the responsibility of the leader, not vice versa.

I'm at Amazon Coffee at PTT HQ and see their mission statement. Is it inspiring, does it give me, the customer, that confident feeling of a company who's a business leader? Not sure. It was refreshing to see this posted on their wall for all to see.

5. Leaders learn not to panic. If you panic the situation deteriorates exponentially.

6. Leaders find it is more important to hire individuals with a conscience rather than a number of degrees.

Just a few thoughts to help you maintain focus this week.

4. If the leader isn’t on board, change efforts are doomed to failure.
