"Introduction to Mathematical Optimization"

Introduction to Mathematical Optimization is a 20-hours course aimed to survey various optimization problems and techniques, in both theory and practical aspects. Industrial practitioners, college and high school students, or those who are keen on the topic can enrol in this course. The registration fee is 10,000 THB with generous discount for students.

Those who have completed the course will be entitled to academic credit from Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), subject to additional evaluation from SUT.

Quantum Technology Foundation - Thailand in collaboration with the University of Tokyo, and Chula Intelligent and Complex Systems - CHICS is calling for a postdoctoral research fellow.
The mathematical optimization team at Quantum Technology Foundation (Thailand) - QTFT - is seeking an outstanding candidate for a postdoctoral research fellow position to work at the intersection of quantum information science, computational science, and mathematical optimization.
The candidate will be a part of our collaborative, interdisciplinary, and highly driven research team consisting of engineers and scientists with strong technical backgrounds in physics, mathematics, computer science, and computational science.
Our team is passionate to identify the advantages (or disadvantages) of quantum algorithms for combinatorial optimization problems with constraints, with the goal to solve realistic, large-scale optimization problems in a divide-and-conquer fashion via distributed computation on quantum-inspired or near-term quantum devices.
The work will be performed in collaboration with experts on combinatorial optimization and quantum science/quantum algorithms from the University of Tokyo, QTFT, and Chula Intelligent and Complex Systems Lab in Bangkok. The successful candidate will have the option to be based in Tokyo, Japan or in Bangkok, Thailand.

Requirements:

A PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields, with the fluency in Python or C++ programming language, are the minimum requirement.
The candidate is expected to have a strong research track record in one of the following areas: quantum information science/quantum algorithms, computational science, mathematical optimization/operation research, and machine learning.
Candidates with interdisciplinary research experiences that are scientifically and mathematically rigorous will receive a special consideration.
