which was set up to do Curtain Wall design and documentation work across Asia. This business was commenced in Thailand in 1997 and based in Bangkok. It did major project facade design work in Hong Kong, Manila, Shanghai and Thailand. In 2004 the company moved its head office to Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand and became Facade Systems Ltd. Partnership - essentially doing the same major project bes
poke Facade Design work but also now generating generic flexible 'stock' Facade SYSTEMS - to try and bring the expertise gained in iconic facade works to smaller projects and subcontractors. This work commenced with Gulf Extrusions in the Middle East market with their attempt to develop local unitized 'stock' systems - in lieu of imported European ones - for smaller subcontractors. Twenty years on we still do both these tasks - we are just completing the large Mahanakhon tower project in Bangkok with diverse unique facade systems for a Thai façade contractor - Peterson 1990 Co. Ltd - as well as finalizing new STOCK SYSTEMS - thermal break Punched Windows and Window Walls - with Tesla Walls for the US market. Over the years Facade Solutions and Facade Systems have extended their work and project experience through the Middle East with work in Beirut, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Qatar; throughout South East Asia; Australia, China, India and the US. We have been very much involved in the introduction of Unitized Curtain Wall systems into Hong Kong, Thailand and Dubai-Abu Dhabi. We provided Peterson 1990 Co Ltd with its first Unitized Curtain Wall designs and also Arabian Aluminium and other subcontractors in Dubai
We have had substantial involvement in over 150 projects across all classes and types of facade work - please refer to our project list below for details. All projects have been designed and documented with the highest levels of professionalism and to the highest International design and documentation standards. Fuller details of all our project work can be obtained upon request - or shortly from our Facebook and LinkedIn sites (currently being developed). Our primary clients are Facade Subcontractors but Facade Systems has provided front-end Facade Consultancy and Tender Documentation directly for architects and developers - and also for other Facade Consultants - eg. Meinhardt Facade Technology in Hong Kong; IBECE in Beirut and Dubai, and also Facade Associates in Bangkok. We are currently doing work with this latter client now. Our extensive design knowledge and experience over many projects in diverse parts of the world brings an expertise to projects ensuring viability and practical resolution to complex facades - while our principles architectural background ensures a respect and a striving to achieve demanding architectural intent. Neil Clarke is an Australian architect who worked on many of Melbourne's major projects with prominent Australian architects from 1980 until the early 1990's. Neil then joined Meinhardt Facade Technology at the time of its substantial expansion into the Asian market in the early 1990's to provide major involvement in planning and implementing this expansion. In 1996 Neil moved to form his own Design oriented Facade Consultancy and he has been working at this task - extending and refining it - for the last twenty years. We have then an unparalleled facade experience. We couple this design experience and architectural respect with documentation directed at real site and factory conditions and with a focus on communicating often complex solutions to the skills and capacities of local staff. Recently - mainly on the Mahanakhon project in Bangkok- we have worked work in close association with Mr. Laurence Francomb on project management, installation and maintenance aspects of facade design and we propose to continue this relationship as the demands of increasingly complex iconic projects make for often difficult installation and maintenance issues. We look forward to helping you with your Facade work - an often problematic and complex part of modern major projects. Our experience can lead to early correct facade resolution - as so often front end documentation has to have major reworking and post contract stage design changes - leading to time delays and cost overruns.
