Added a number of potted alocasias and some more affordable tissue culture options. About 100 caladium varieties to be added soon over the next couple days, along with some ZZ plant options.

We had a few hiccups for our Israeli shipments: August was the hottest month in the UAE, where the deliveries routed through as a transit point. 2 parcels so far had the TC plants cooked alive. So we are officially suspending standard shipping option to Israel every August from now on. 🙏🫠

Grateful for our repeat customers, more parcels to UK, USA, Singapore and UAE. 2 parcels packed into 1 to be sent to Dragon Courier in Bangkok over the weekend.

After about a year, we observed that the best customer satisfaction is often preceded by fast shipping that ensures the plants arrive healthy. No one likes their plants die during transit and one bad experience can deter repurchase. We also cannot keep assuming the risk completely and compensate every time that happens when customers choose the slowest shipping option. So if possible, always prioritize shipping so that you can receive a plant you can keep multiplying to earn the cost back when you sell them later!

Featured in these photos are Colocasia Pharaoh's Mask Fuchsia, Tiger Cup and Longkong. For UK customers, some of these are going to a startup nursery, so you can expect to buy locally when they become available there too!

For Singapore customers, you do not need courier shipping from Thailand. Via standard post, your parcel can arrive within a week if you submit a pre-notificatipn to NPark at just SGD11 per shipment!

This Alocasia Cuprea Nom Yen aka True/Super Pink variegated is current bidding at 55000 THB (~1650 USD) in a popular plant auction group in Thailand.

It was first discovered in Thailand, thus the name 'Nom Yen', a rose milk beverage popular among children and teenagers here. Sellers overseas later gave it an English name for easier identification.

You would think that with the price for tissue culture being so low now, its price for larger plants will be affected! But the adult plant still fetches a very handsome price in the retail market. You can only imagine how much it costs in other countries! It is going for cheap in our store:

This is what it looks like in our small but growing plant tissue culture lab. After less than 1 month in multiplication media, numerous shoots have emerged from the mother explant. Soon, I will be dividing them into fresh media for the 2nd cycle of multiplication. Once we have enough, we will start to root some for sale.

The reddish stem one is Alocasia Jacklyn Aurea and the other is the more common Black Velvet Albo/Pink.

The 'cleaner' the mother plant, the faster they grow. That said, most TC plants in the Asian market has PPM or some form of biocide in the gel to suppress bacteria. I know this for a fact because I procured from most of the labs here, including factories in China and lost a huge initial investment due to endophyte contamination, not knowing PPM is heavily used in this industry.

This is by far the most effective way to root your Colocasia fresh cuttings:

Materials required:
- Leca/Pumic Stone,
- Sphagnum Moss,
- Container without hole,
- Rubber band,
- Long transparent plastic bag (wide enough to wrap the container),
- Stick (to hold the bag up).

1. Fill 3/4 to 4/5 of the container with Leca/Pumic stone,
2. Position the cutting directly on top of leca in the center,
3. Fill in the sides with the moss (not too compact, enough to hold the cutting upright) and covering just the bulb and no higher than that. If your climate tends toward the high 30C range, avoid moss entirely and use smaller sized leca exclusively,
4. Pour water till it sits at 1 inch at the bottom,
5. Insert stick,
6. Wrap the whole thing container with the bag and secure it with the rubber band,
7. Keep it at room temperature in indirect light, never in complete shade or direct sunlight.
8. Always remember to label your plants if you are processing multiple pieces!

The roots in the photo took about a week, usually less, depending on how strong the cutting is.

Rescue of rotting or dying Colocasia plants requires a different method with varying success rate, will share in the future!

Photos featuring new Colocasia hybrid 'Pink Mist'. Also Colocasia Candy Crush.

The pink one is a large Caladium "Prosperous Jewel" with flower!
