แกรมกระดาษคืออะไร❓ ใช่ความหนาของกระดาษหรือไม่⁉️
วันนี้สุขสวัสดิ์ จะพาทุกคนให้มารู้จักกับแกรมกระดาษกันค่ะ
หน่วยที่ใช้สำหรับเรียกน้ำหนักสิ่งของบนโลกของเรานั้นมีอยู่หลายแบบด้วยกัน ไม่ว่าจะเป็น กรัม ขีด กิโลกรัม และเมตริกตัน ซึ่งโดยส่วนใหญ่แล้วจะใช้ในการวัดน้ำหนักกับสิ่งของทั่วไป
แต่สำหรับกระดาษจะมีหน่วยและวิธีการวัดน้ำหนักที่ต่างจากสิ่งของทั่วไป นั่นก็คือ แกรม (gsm) ค่ะ
แกรม (GSM ย่อมาจาก Gram Per Square Meter) คือน้ำหนักของกระดาษต่อหน่วยพื้นที่ ซึ่งเป็นน้ำหนักมาตรฐาน (Basis weight หรือ Grammage)
มีวิธีการตรวจสอบง่ายๆ ด้วยการนำกระดาษที่มีพื้นที่ขนาด 1 x 1 เมตรมาชั่งน้ำหนัก หรือใช้กระดาษที่มีพื้นที่ขนาด 10 x 10 เซนติเมตร เพื่อตรวจสอบขนาดแกรมก็ได้เช่นกันค่ะ
เพราะเหตุใดน้ำหนัก (แกรม) ของกระดาษจึงมีความสำคัญ?
สาเหตุจากกระดาษแต่ละชนิดมีความหนา (Thickness หรือ Caliper) ไม่เท่ากัน ทำให้ยากต่อการวัดความหนาของกระดาษ จึงต้องมีหน่วยวัดน้ำหนักกระดาษแทนการวัดความหนา โดยจากที่กล่าวไปข้างต้นอาจเป็นไปได้ว่ากระดาษที่มีน้ำหนักมากก็จะมีความหนาของกระดาษที่มากขึ้นตามไปด้วย
แต่ในบางครั้งเราก็พบว่ากระดาษที่แกรมเท่ากันแต่ต่างชนิดกัน ความหนาก็อาจต่างกันได้ เพราะมวลหรือความหนาแน่นของเนื้อกระดาษนั้นไม่เท่ากัน จึงส่งผลให้มีความหนาที่ต่างกันออกไป โดยเราจะพบว่ากระดาษที่เนื้อแน่นจะบางกว่ากระดาษที่มีเนื้อฟ่าม (Bulk)
