Position: Technician or Engineer Maintenance and Repair of diesel generator
Workplace: North Sector and South Sector
Job Description:
Under the responsibility of the installation supervisor of each sub-sector, the electromechanical technician for electric and diesel motors will have the main missions:
Ensure daily operation and maintenance of generators and/or electric vehicles, maintaining electrical parts and components as well as other associated systems within base camp.
Supervise the commissioning of installation works and testing of any new systems related to generator sets, electrical and mechanical equipment, in coordination with applicable standards and safety and security.
Perform and/or participate in all maintenance activities of building facilities and infrastructure as required.
Inspect and take corrective action on emergency repair requests and requirements.
Inspect areas of the complex to ensure the use and maintenance of safety standards and equipment.
Validate requests for installation or removal of Genset, electrical and mechanical equipment.
Compile documentary evidence of accidents.
Ensure infrastructure meets safety and security standards by reviewing with designated safety and security managers.
Diesel Engine Maintenance:
The technician will be required to perform routine inspections, maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including generators and vehicles, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Expertise in electrical systems:
The candidate will be required to troubleshoot and repair vehicle and generator electrical components and systems, including wiring, circuits and control panels.
Generator Maintenance:
He will be required to perform preventative maintenance on generators, replace worn parts and diagnose and correct electrical problems to ensure continuous power supply.
Vehicle electrical systems:
The technician will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing and repairing the electrical systems of various vehicles, including cars, trucks and specialty vehicles.
Parts and components:
He will be responsible for finding and replacing electrical and mechanical parts and components, ensuring that they meet manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
Bilingual communication:
The candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers in English and French, providing technical explanations and updates as necessary.
Security Compliance:
Compliance with all safety protocols and guidelines is essential, ensuring a safe working environment.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including equipment logs, service reports and parts inventory.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, vehicle electrical systems and generator electrical components.
Fluent in English and French, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency service calls when necessary.
Qualification:
Certification or degree in a relevant field (e.g. electrical engineering, automotive technology or similar).
Proven experience of 7 years or more as a versatile electromechanical technician with expertise in diesel engines, vehicles and generators.
Driver's license for heavy equipment.
Additional skills:
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, plans and schematics.
Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment.
